St. Mark's Lutheran Church Food Pantry is open Fridays from 3-6 p.m. and serves people living in the 97206 zip code. On a recent active afternoon, more than 100 people received groceries. A core team of active leaders stocks the shelves each week with fresh, canned and boxed food items from multiple sources. Jesus fed the hungry and so do we. afterschool mentors needed
Portland Kids at Restoration Community is looking for individuals who would be interested in volunteering one afternoon each week to help mentor our children. We offer an afterschool program designed to assist children with homework and academic skills. This program is offered Monday through Thursday with approximately 40 children present. As a mentor you would assist the classroom teacher by interacting with the children, helping them with their homework and assisting in the academic enrichment activities. The requirements for this position are that you love children and desire them to succeed! All volunteers will be required to pass a criminal background check. helping the homeless and mentally ill
A church made up of mostly the homeless and mentally ill meets three times per week and serves a meal at each of them. The church's needs right now are to help clean up on Saturdays 2:30-3:30 p.m. and to do childcare.
