African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries Alarm

ALARM is an African-led ministry founded by our dear friend and brother, Celestin Musekura, empowering African pastors and other leaders to bring hope and transformation to their communities.  ALARM works in eight countries in East Africa, and specializes in reconciliation work in areas of conflict and violence, pastoral training, micro-loan development and vocational training for those afflicted by the aftermath of war.  Jeff and Michelle Theisen Jeff and Michelle Theisen

Jeff and Michelle Theisen are missionaries with World Venture to the peoples of central, northern Uganda and southeastern Sudan. Their primary ministry is leadership training - to equip Ugandans with the knowledge and skills to lead their churches and communities, and they are now working alongside refugees returning to Sudan to rebuild their homeland.

 Living Water

Living WaterLiving Water International is an interdenominational Christian ministry committed to helping communities in the developing world acquire safe drinking water.  Today, LWI maintains ongoing operations in 25 countries, and has completed more than 4200 water solutions which serve 6 million people every day.  LWI works alongside national church planters, medical organizations, and other ministries--providing water solutions for communiites, hospitals, schools and orphanages.  Living Water teams meet physical needs through the provision of clean water and spiritual needs through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

 Chris and Kalika Stanton Stantons - Chris and Kalika Stanton

Chris and Kalika Stanton are primary/secondary teachers in a school in Panama City, Panama. They teach a variety of subjects and levels. Their first child, Marek Zain, was born to them on October 6th weighing 8lbs. 4oz. and was 50 cm. long.  Check out their blog to see more of what they've been up to lately:

 Lahash Lahash - Lahash1

Lahash International was created to encourage grassroots movements of compassion. providing relief for those in desperate situations in East Africa.  Lahash partners with African-led grassroots ministries in East Africa, enabling very direct, practical and caring distribution of assistance.  Currently they focus on orphans, widows and families affected by war and the AIDS pandemic.  Their goal is to enable multiple bridges between communities in the US and communities in East Africa.

BethBeth (last name omitted for security) is an amazing follower of Christ to all who know her.  She's currently serving in the Middle East, working for an international organization as a job by day, and seeking to live missionally as a follower of Christ in her presence there.  She chose this image as a symbol to her of life in the desert, she hopes to be a living signpost of God's life in Christ through her presence there.  She invites all who know her and those who don't to pray for her life and ministry there.

 International Justice Mission

IJMInternational Justice Mission is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression.  IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to promote functioning public justice systems.

Rick and Faye Meyer are currently sent by Imago Dei to partner with Jeff and Michelle Theisen (above) in Sudan.  Rick's experience as an architect and their joint love of God and maturity in Christ are a huge blessing to our long-term missionaries there and we are extremely grateful for them.

These Numbers Have FacesThese Numbers Have Faces exists to partner with grassroots initiatives in post-conflict regions, advocate for social transformation, and change the way we interact with those in need.  They aim to do this through a framework that moves beyond statistics which are important, yet often overwhelming and paralyzing, by identifying persons and their stories in an effort to speak to the larger issues of our world, emphasizing relationship-building with a particular initiative and community.  These Numbers is particularly focused on a dynamic, soccer-based initiative in South Africa.

Brad Restule is currently teaching conversational English to children and adults through the Logos English outreach program of Takaishi Bible Church in the city of Osaka, Japan.  He hopes to have a constructive, missional presence in the life of the church and city there as a devoted follower of Christ.

 Victor Cruz Victor Cruz - Victor Cruz1

Pastor Victor Cruz is a church planter in the state of Morelos, Mexico. He also trains pastors through the Reformed Training Center that he co-founded in 2005. Victor was recently appointed by the Presbytery of Morelos to coordinate all outreach efforts in the state through 2007. Victor is also in the initial stages of establishing an outreach to the needy state of Chiapas, the southernmost state of Mexico
