Over the years we have had the privilege at Imago of seeing God take us from just a handful of people meeting in a home, to a church that is now impacting Portland and beyond. We have been allowed by the grace of God to be involved in Church planting, global work in Vietnam and Cambodia, working locally in Portland from the streets of the city, to the arts, and local government. We have watched hundreds of people over the years join God on mission and be changed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
One of the desires that I have had for the last several years is to give voice to the amazing people that make Imago Dei Community what it is. This blog is for that purpose. Whether you go to Imago or are following us from afar, my hope is that you will be encouraged, inspired and invited into the conversation with pastors, leaders and the people of Imago Dei.
We designed the Blog to hit the major areas of Theology, Mission and Community as opposed to specific groups like women or families. So, within each category you will find people who are serving and sharing in various areas. There will be a variety of voices speaking into theses major arenas. As for me, I have been a loser when it comes to blogging but am planning on contributing regularly. I will mostly be sharing the ideas and thoughts that I am wrestling through.
The site will be updated several times a week as key leaders share what they are walking through and tensions that they face as they live into the Kingdom and, standing in the middle of the Gospel, giving themselves to being the people of God in our city. We hope to share the stuff that makes us laugh, the stuff that makes us weep and the things that make us ask the deeper questions. I hope that you will join the conversation and that this will be a helpful resource as you follow Jesus into the Kingdom and stand in the midst of the Gospel.

Hi Rick and leaders of Imago Dei,
I just want say that I am very excited about this! I attend church weekly and volunteer in the nursery and attend a home community weekly, but somehow I still feel like I’m not always in the loop with the heart of Imago Dei. I think this will help! I am excited to learn what God is placing on your hearts. Thank you for doing this! I look foward to reading.

Thanks Rachelle! I hope that this helps you feel more connected! I would also say that you are a big part of the heart of Imago, so thanks for all you do in serving and doing life in community as you follow Jesus. It is all of us that make up Imago and make it what it is.

Now that there is a blog I can know more about Imago Dei.
May God continue to bless a direct you.
