Imago Dei Refuge provides a safe place where people are able to grow spiritually and gain freedom from their hurts, destructive behaviors, and life struggles. People receive support, education, and encouragement in the context of a community that believes that God's grace is fostered through the channels of relationship. It is in these relationships that people learn to walk together through the messiness of life, encountering Christ as present in the communal journey.
Refuge meetings begin in a large community gathering. During these times, Christ's healing love is explored explored through song, through someone's story of recovery, or through a biblical truth applied to relevant issues.
Small groups then form for times that include educational pieces, relationship building, accountability, and affirmation. Through it all, the expectation at Refuge is that God meets people where they are, loves them fully, and transforms lives in the process.
Getting Started
If you are interested in getting involved at Refuge then there are few things that you may need to know. To start off we are not a replacement for professional counseling. Refuge is a place where people can come to journey with others who are trying to understand and grow through brokenness. We offer support groups that deal with various issues and struggles along with opportunities for learning. We are a ministry of Imago Dei Community Church and therefore carry the values and are under the authority of the church. Our hope is that through Christ all can find hope and healing even through some of life’s messiest places. If this seams like a place for you then please contact us.
If you'd like to take a quick test to see if you should consider becoming involved complete this Refuge Questionnaire. If you answer yes to four or more of its 18 questions, please contact us to begin the process of becoming a participant with our recovery communities.
