The Bible portrays God as on a mission through history to reconcile the world to himself. This mission began with the people of Israel, it came to fulfillment in the work of Jesus Christ, and it continues today as God’s Spirit extends the reconciling work of Christ into the entire world through Christ’s church.
As a particular NW expression of the church, Imago Dei Community exists to share God’s reconciliation with Portland. But as part of Christ’s united global church, Imago Dei also exists to share God’s love with all of creation. Locally and globally, Imago Dei acts with churches and governments to see people encounter the good news of God’s purpose and presence in the world, sparking personal change, social healing, and cultural renewal.
