When the Word became flesh, He didn't hide in palaces or temples. Rather, He sought out the people that everyone else overlooked, extending the Father's love to them through service, touch, provision, and simple presence. As Christ's church, Imago Dei is made in God's image to do the same.
We meet on Saturdays at SE 12th and Alder. We begin serving food at 3 pm, and we are usually packed up by 4 pm and pray with those who served us before we leave. While in the park we serve food, distribute donations of socks, clothes and toiletries. But our main mission is to love on those who are invisible to most of the city by listening to their stories and meeting them in their brokenness.
Saturday afternoon is a valuable time, and we can turn it into a costly gift by serving our hungry neighbors in the name of Jesus.
