Rick McKinley

Rick McKinley serves as lead pastor at Imago Dei. He and his wife Jeanne moved to Portland to plant Imago Dei Community with 8 year old twins, a two year old and a one year old. Today, besides his pastoral and preaching duties with Imago, Rick travels widely to share local movements like Advent Conspiracy with the broader church. Rick and Jeanne enjoy spending time with their kids and thanking God for all He has done and continues to do in the community.
Luke Hendrix
- Executive Pastor
Luke Hendrix serves as the Executive Pastor at Imago Dei, where he and his wife, Donna, have been since 2002. Prior, Luke served in different ministry roles for more than 25 years. A strong believer in the idea that our Christian heritage will not be left in buildings or programs, Luke is committed to empowering the next generation of leadership in all areas of church ministry. Luke loves the Bible, he loves to preach, and loves to ride his bikes.
Eric Brown
- Pastor of Administration
Eric serves as Imago’s Pastor of Administration. He and his wife, Tara, joined Imago Dei in 2002 after helping plant churches in Seattle and S. Florida. A graduate of Multnomah Bible College, Eric’s duties with the church include overseeing facilities, technology, and its Deacons. He enjoys running, adventuring, and spending time with Tara and their three sons, Jon, Riley, and Evan.
Heather Thomas
- Pastor of Women's Formation
Heather Thomas serves as Imago’s Pastor of Women’s formation. A graduate of Multnomah Bible College, she came on staff with Imago in 2004 and now directs the many expressions of its Women’s Formation. In her spare time, Heather enjoy conversation with friends, taking walks, and working in her garden.
Josh Butler
Josh Butler is Imago’s Pastor of Mission. He and his wife, Holly, have attended Imago since 2001. Josh graduated with a bachelor’s in International Studies and History from the University of Oregon, before earning an M.Div in Theological Studies from Multnomah Seminary. He has worked with communities around the world on matters like indigenous land-rights, the development of clean water supply, and cultural exchange between international churches. Josh enjoys reading, running, guitar, talking theology over coffee, and exploring creation with Holly and friends.
Jeff Marsh
- Pastor of Families
Jeff Marsh currently serves as Pastor of Families. On staff with Imago Dei since its beginnings, Jeff, a graduate of Multnomah Bible College, has filled about every role in the church. He strives to integrate children and families into the community's holistic life together. Jeff is husband to Shanti, father to four, and a once-dominant low-post force on the basketball court.
Ben Tertin
- Pastor of Students
Ben Tertin, M.Div.T.S., Th.M., is our Pastor of Students, leading the charge for Imago Dei’s junior high, high school and college ministries. His ongoing goal is to harmonize the key instruments in a student's spiritual growth, including thoughtful biblical and theological teaching, contemplative worship, active mentoring relationships, and vibrant times of celebration for the student-leader-parent communities. Ben is a studetn of God's Word, an outdoorsman and a writer who resides in Portland with his wife, Ali, daughter, Annabelle, and son, Wesley.
Paul Ramey
- Pastor of Worship and Arts
Paul Ramey is Imago Dei's pastor of Worship and Arts. Besides a passion for worship, liturgy, and songwriting, Paul's story has been formed by experiences as a church planter, both in New York City and here in Portland. Paul is married to Meredith, and they have three boys, Jonah, Evan, and Noah - who help remind him not to get too frisky on his skateboard. Paul is currently working on his MA in theology from Western Seminary.
